BrushBaby Celebrates International Women’s Day
International Women’s Day is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women and the theme for this year is #choosetochallenge.
There’s no doubt that every single one of us has been ‘challenged ‘ in so many different ways over the past year. Our whole way of life, thinking, working and socialising patterns have been seriously challenged! However, today’s international ‘day’, has also given us an opportunity to reflect on the meaning behind the hashtag, and whilst doing so recognise our founder and how, why and when she first started Brush-Baby.
Dominique was a mum (and with a sister who is a dentist!), and wanted the best for her daughter which included looking after her teeth and oral welfare as early as possible, but she couldn’t find a suitable toothbrush. We asked her to tell us her story:
“I just wanted to find a Baby Toothbrush that my daughter didn’t clamp her mouth shut upon, refuse to use, or just bite down on the child's toothbrush head.
Observing her behaviour I just knew that there had to be ‘a better way’ for her (and me!), than the conventional-style toothbrush which I was using for her dental-care. This led to the development of the Chewable Bristles Toothbrush.
Unusual in its design and material, it certainly defied the traditional style toothbrushes for kids , but most importantly for my daughter chewing on the flexible, medical grade silicone ‘bristles’ on the kids toothbrush to her heart’s content, accompanied by a smear of teething toothpaste for babies (another ‘new’ development!) she was soothing her teething gums and cleaning emerging teeth at the same time! Result!
Parents and caregivers who have since bought and used the Chewable First Toothbrush and the other ‘different’ products in the Brush-Baby range, have joined me in ‘choosing to challenge’ the ‘norm’, and I, and their children’s dental health thank them for it.
I’m going to enjoy today as a ‘Day of Recognition’ and then will get on with the other 364 days of the year, continuing to research and develop specific tooth-friendly products for little hands, delicate taste buds, independent natures, and developing teeth, by providing specifically child-oriented products and solutions, and offering free advice on how to keep tiny teeth tip-top tastic!”
