There’s a programme on BBC Radio 4 entitled ‘The Museum of Curiosity’, and each week a selected panel of guests choose a fascinating exhibit which they wish to donate to a vast imaginary museum. The Chewable Toothbrush with its unusual design, shape and texture, could be one such candidate!
Due to its unique shape, initially many parents may be sceptical, but once the Chewable Toothbrush is given to a child, just stand and watch - it really is a case of ‘once bitten forever smitten!’ They understand how it works and they use it as if it were second nature!
Designed to capitalise upon a child’s natural urge to ‘chew’, its pliable shape easily fits inside a baby’s mouth and grips its natural gum-line. With its medical-grade silicone ‘bristles’, a baby chews away and cleans, massages and soothes teething gums at the same time. Result!
So why is the Chewable Toothbrush so different? Well serendipity is the word that should be used. Dominique Tillen, the Founder and MD of Brush-Baby, designed this product because she couldn’t find a suitable toothbrush for her baby daughter.
The traditional toothbrush she was using with her toddler just wasn’t working. The brush-head was too big, the bristles too hard for her delicate teething gums and the handle was way too long for a child to hold, never mind get a grip on! Worst of all – when she eventually got the toothbrush in her mouth, she would ‘chew’ on the bristles... all of which conspired to the Chewable Toothbrush being designed and launched to the dental-care market. Ta-dah!
This first product has now led the development to a range of products specifically designed for little ones aged newborn to 6 years. All Brush-Baby products are designed with parent and child’s needs and their manual dexterity in mind. Tastebud-tasty toothpastes, user-friendly handles for parent to hold and a child to grip, small brush-heads for tiny mouths and lights and timers, have all been incorporated into designs, not just for entertainment value, but to make the dental-care process easy.
So, from toothless gums to a first full set of milk teeth, all parents should be curious about Brush-Baby!
