Hickory Dickory Dock, It’s Nursery Rhyme O’Clock!
Nursery rhymes have been used for both cooing our children to sleep and entertaining them in playgrounds for as long as anyone can remember, but they can also be used to make brush time that little bit easier!

You might be wondering - but which are the most used? To celebrate last week’s National Nursery Rhyme Week, we thought we would find out what the top 5 in the UK are!
With over 200 applicants for our recent competition, there was a clear favourite, but it might not be what you thought! In order of preference, our audience chose:
- Twinkle twinkle little star
- Incy wincy spider
- Hickory dickory dock
- Humpty dumpty
- Row, row, row your boat
Although these are all classic choices, it may surprise some to see that old favourites like, Baa, Baa, Black Sheep, Ring a Ring o’ Roses or Pat-a-cake, Pat-a-cake, Baker’s Man – didn’t make the top 5!
Whilst they are all still very well-known songs that have been sung for centuries, for the younger generations these 5 are the ones that have risen in their favour!
So make sure your children are well-versed in these much -loved rhymes, so they can sing along with all their friends when they get to the playground!
