Are You Doing The ‘4 Bs’ Routine?

As much as we complain about routine, we like to know what’s coming!

Routines are an important part of life. Just like adults, children feel more confident and secure when their daily activities are obvious and familiar, whether at home, in group care or classroom setting, enabling them to feel in control of their environment.

Knowing what will happen next gives babies and toddlers security and emotional stability. It helps them learn to trust that caring adults will provide what they need, but also helps them learn self-control.

Brush-Baby LOVE a routine – it’s the best way to engage children in using their toothbrush for kids and to instill great oral care habits. Two minutes twice a day using their kids toothbrush is a minimum requirement – giving a total a total of 4 minutes out of a 1440 minute day. Doesn’t seem much does it? – but for some caregivers it sometimes feels as if they are asking for ‘the moon on a stick!’

We appreciate that life is full-on, particularly in the mornings, when toothbrushing corners may be cut, in the interests in just getting out the front door on time!
However, night-time toothbrushing provides the perfect opportunity for 2 minutes toothbrushing especially when incorporated into the 4 Bs routine – Bath, (Tooth)Brush, Book and Bed.

Brush-Baby products have been designed with children at their heart. Yummy-tasting non-foaming infant toothpaste formulations and a range of age-appropriate manual, electric and rechargeable kids toothbrushes, with small-sized brush-heads with deep-clean bristles to get into every nook and cranny in that idealistic 2 minute timeframe, which can be adhered to with vibrating integrated timers and flashing lights.

As one mummy reviewer recently said about our BabySonic first electric toothbrush:

“This is the best product! I was barely getting 20 seconds of brushing with my toddler, now he lets me do the full two minutes. I’m now confident that he has a healthy mouth and we’re looking after his teeth the best we can.”

  • Good routines are well planned, regular and predictable.
  • Routines help children feel safe, develop life skills and build healthy habits.
  • Daily routines help parents feel organised, reduce stress and find time for enjoyable activities.
